Find out here if and where your company ranked in the rankings.
Your company's rankings 2025 can be viewed/accessed on the ListaFirme website and from their own company profile. Users who have an account associated with a company can choose to make public the positions in the top of companies in Romania occupied by it.
ListaFirme Tops 2025 is carried out by turnover and profit, at national level, county, commune, municipality, locality, field of activity and by enterprise size categories as follows:
- a) microenterprises - have up to 9 employees and achieve a net annual turnover or have total assets of up to 2 million euros, equivalent in lei;
- b) small enterprises - have between 10 and 49 employees and achieve a net annual turnover or have total assets of up to 10 million euros, equivalent in lei;
- c) medium-sized enterprises - have between 50 and 249 employees and achieve a net annual turnover of up to 50 million euros, equivalent in lei, or have total assets that do not exceed the equivalent in lei of 43 million euros;
- d) large enterprises - have between 250 and 999 employees;
- e) very large enterprises - have 1000 or more employees.
Several predefined charts by size category can be accessed from the page company rankings, page from which you can also create other custom sorts.
Observations:
- businesses without employees are not included in the calculation of the rankings by size category;
- the field of activity considered is the predominant one (the highest income) and may be different from the field of main activity declared in the articles of association;
The following are not taken into account:
- the fact that in order to fall into a size category, the enterprise must meet the criteria for falling into the new category for two consecutive years;
- enterprises that have not submitted their balance sheet statements within the legal deadline;
- companies that have merged or split;
- enterprises without employees in the rankings by size category;
They are included in the top 2025 companies that carried out activity in the previous year and with a published balance sheet by the date of 01-08-2025regardless of the operating status according to the Trade Register or the activity status according to ANAF.
Companies in the K FINANCIAL INTERMEDIARIES AND INSURANCE sector are not included in the rankings because they have specific balance sheet reporting and not all have defined turnover.
For the individual assessment of the size of companies based on turnover, total assets and number of employees, similar to the official division into size categories, we will use the formula:
[mărime]=[cifra afaceri]+A*[active totale]+B*[număr angajați]
where A and B are equivalence coefficients determined by averaging the maximum thresholds from the official classification as follows:
A=(2+10+50)/(2+10+43)=1.127
B=1.000.000*(2+10+50)/(9+49+249)=201954.4
The places occupied in the top 2025 will be presented within each company profile (if applicable).
Euro value at the end of the financial year: 1 Eur = 4.9746 Lei
For the Top Active Companies 2024, 881,426 financial and accounting balance sheets of companies in Romania were taken into account.
Do not confuse legal size limits with tax limits:
- micro-enterprises with companies to which the micro-enterprise taxation system applies and which are defined/delimited according to criteria specific to the tax authorities (they include only a small part of the real number of micro-enterprises);
- the groups of entities defined by MFP Order no. 1802/2014 or art. 47 of the Fiscal Code (which provide definitions in a fiscal sense) with the size groups of companies established by Law no. 346/2004 and advisable by the European Commission.
- micro-enterprises with companies to which the micro-enterprise taxation system applies and which are defined/delimited according to criteria specific to the tax authorities (they include only a small part of the real number of micro-enterprises);
- the groups of entities defined by MFP Order no. 1802/2014 or art. 47 of the Fiscal Code (which provide definitions in a fiscal sense) with the size groups of companies established by Law no. 346/2004 and advisable by the European Commission.

TOP OF ACTIVE LF COMPANIES is registered trademark and the creation of the top is an initiative guaranteed by art. 45 of the Romanian Constitution. Other company tops that you should not confuse are those created by chambers of commerce based on art. 28 of law 335/2007 which establishes non-exclusive attributions (not skills and not accreditations as claimed by the respective NGOs) regarding the company top.
