Tr - - ICMET Craiova is the National Institute for Research, Development and Testing in Electrical Engineering, fully state-owned.
ICMET's activities are diverse: Testing and certification of low, medium and high voltage electrical equipment, testing and calibration of electromagnetic compatibility, electrical safety, research and development in the field of renewable energy and power quality, monitoring and diagnostics of electroenergetic equipment, calibration of electrical and non-electrical quantities, on-site measurements and diagnostics of power transformers, special electromechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment and technologies, appovals and conformity certificates in the field of electrical engineering, production of models, prototypes and small series of equipment resulting from research, studies and standardisation activities in the fields of competence, technological transfer of own research results, provision of consultancy and technical assistance services, international scientific cooperation.
ICMET holds more than 30 patents applied to the equipment developed.
ICMET has had and has collaborations, within bilateral conventions, with PTB Braunschweig, TU Karlsruhe, TU Eindhoven, TU Berlin, IPH Berlin, KEMA T&D Testing Services Netherlands, etc.
It is the founder of two non-governmental organisations based at ICMET:
ACER - Association for Electromagnetic Compatibility in Romania
RTS - Romanian Thermoelectricity Society
ICMET Craiova has more than 50 years of experience in the testing of electroenergetic equipment, monitoring and diagnostic equipment for electroenergetic equipment, special electro-mechanical equipment and the application of unconventional technologies.
ICMET is a centre of excellence in the field of research and development, testing and calibration of electrotechnical products, recognised nationally and internationally through accreditations at European level in the field of high voltage, high current and electromagnetic compatibility testing of low, medium and high voltage equipment.
